On the 7th of July 2026, the 6G-VERSUS project was presented at the 61st Summer School of NCSR “Demokritos”, in the thematic session “Telecommunications, 6G & Networks.”
Dr. Harilaos Koumaras and George Makropoulos from the Institute of Informatics & Telecommunications (IIT) of NCSR “Demokritos” represented 6G-VERSUS through their presentation entitled:
“Combining 6G Networks and Artificial Intelligence in Search and Rescue Pilot Applications”
The presentation showcased the work carried out within the 6G-VERSUS Greek Pilot, highlighting how 6G connectivity and Artificial Intelligence can be combined to support advanced Search and Rescue (SAR) operations. Through the pilot activities, the project explores the potential of next-generation communication technologies to enhance situational awareness, coordination and operational capabilities in challenging emergency scenarios.
The session took place at the Central Amphitheatre of NCSR “Demokritos”, providing an opportunity to introduce the 6G-VERSUS vision and its practical experimentation activities to students, young researchers and members of the scientific community.
