On 10 December 2025, the Portuguese Cluster of the 6G-VERSUS project carried out an on-site integration and validation session at the Port of Aveiro Administration facilities, marking a key milestone in preparation for the upcoming trial activities.
The session brought together technical teams from OneSource, Port of Aveiro Administration, IT Aveiro, JSIO, and IPN to validate the solutions designed for the Portuguese use case and to assess system interoperability under real-world operational conditions.
The objective of this testing session was twofold. First, to verify that the individual technological components – including edge processing modules, connectivity enablers, AI-based video analytics, and application-layer services – were functioning according to specification. Second, to test end-to-end integration among partners, ensuring seamless data exchange, stable connectivity, and coordinated execution across the distributed architecture.
The session confirmed the technical feasibility of the use case and strengthened collaboration among cluster partners. It also reinforced the Portuguese Cluster’s commitment to demonstrating advanced 5G/6G-enabled solutions in support of safer, more efficient port operations.
This milestone represents a critical step toward the full-scale trials, consolidating the readiness of the integrated system and ensuring alignment between technological development and operational needs.
