On 21 October 2026, 6G-VERSUS brought evidence and lessons from its trials and pilots to Techritory Forum 2026. Xenofon Vasilakos, Technical Manager of 6G-VERSUS from I-SENSE Group/ICCS, contributed to the discussion on Europe’s future connectivity through a presentation, a panel discussion and a podcast.
From pilot experience to resilient networks
During the side event “6G Trials for Resilient Europe: from SNS pilots to FP10 pre-deployment”, Xenofon delivered a presentation titled “Towards Resilient 6G Networks: Evidence and Lessons from the 6G-VERSUS Trials and Pilots”.
Drawing on the project’s six pilots, the presentation explored how coverage extension, multi-connectivity, adaptive Quality of Service (QoS), edge intelligence and energy-aware operation can support resilience in real-world environments. It also addressed the importance of maintaining service continuity under non-ideal conditions.

From innovation to strategic and economic impact
Xenofon also joined Harry Aquije Ballon, Colin Willcock and Janis Grevins in the panel discussion “6G for a Resilient and Competitive Europe: From Innovation to Strategic and Economic Impact”, moderated by Carles Anton Haro.
The discussion addressed the transition from successful pilots to scalable services, as well as the economic and societal value of 6G. Xenofon also highlighted investment priorities for FP10, including the reuse of existing infrastructures and earlier pathways towards adoption and commercialisation.

What should Europe test before 6G deployment?
Xenofon also joined Luis Miguel Contreras Murillo, Miguel Gonzalez-Sancho and Kostas Trichias for the podcast “What should Europe test before 6G is deployed? Large-scale trials, resilience and the Connected Digital Fabric”.
The conversation explored performance, interoperability, security and real-world resilience, alongside connectivity across networks, sectors and borders. It also highlighted the need to validate measurable operational benefits alongside technical performance.
Through these three contributions, 6G-VERSUS shared its trial experience in the European discussion on future connectivity, connecting research with operational needs, measurable resilience and pathways towards pre-deployment and adoption.
