On 7 May, the Greek pilot partners successfully carried out the second trial of the wildfire detection and search-and-rescue use case of the 6G VERSUS project in Greece. The trials took place at the campus of NCSR Demokritos, with the participation of the following partners:
1. NCSR “DEMOKRITOS”, acting as the lead of the Athens 5G/6G testbed and Greek cluster leader
2. I-SENSEGroup/ICCS, serving as the use-case champion
3. OTE Group of Companies (HTO), complementing the Athens 5G/6G testbed with commercial-grade capabilities as the telecom operator
4. INFOLYSiS, responsible for development and integration activities
5. Hellenic Rescue Team of Attica – Ελληνική Ομάδα Διάσωσης Αττικής Team of Attica, participating as end users
The activity demonstrated how Beyond-5G (B5G) and emerging hashtag#6G technologies can support faster, safer, and more efficient disaster response operations, contributing to environmental protection and public safety.
During the trials, additional system components were successfully tested, enabling the full interaction of the Triplet Application. Representatives from SMEs and the Municipality of Egaleo were also invited to attend the second trials and provided valuable feedback on the demonstrated capabilities.
This round of trials focused on establishing the foundation for the Greek pilot deployment and validating key technological components of the 6G VERSUS project.
1. Present the activities, objectives, and technological vision of the Greek pilot. test and validate the initial interfaces and integration of the 6G applications within the Greek pilot environment.
2. Assess the interoperability of core system components and identify areas for further optimisation.
3. Incorporate lessons learned and feedback gathered from the first trial deployment to support the next phases of the pilot activities.
