On 24 August 2026, Dr. Kostas Manousakis, from KIOS Research and Innovation Center of Excellence, represented 6G-VERSUS at the Robotic Systems in the Edge–Cloud Continuum (RISE) 2026 Workshop, organised in the framework of Euro-Par 2026 in Pisa, Italy.
During the workshop, Dr. Manousakis presented work supported by the 6G-VERSUS project, focusing on cost-aware O-RAN and transport-network planning for robotic services.
The work considers the heterogeneous bandwidth and latency requirements of robotic control and perception traffic, exploring how communication networks can be efficiently planned while reducing costs and ensuring the required network performance.
The topic is closely aligned with 6G-VERSUS activities on 6G-enabled vertical applications and collaborative robotics, contributing to the project’s broader vision of supporting advanced vertical use cases through next-generation communication infrastructures.
