On the 6th of March, the Greek pilot partners successfully carried out the 1st trial of the wildfire detection and search-and-rescue use case of the 6G‑VERSUS in Greece. The trials took place at the premises of the NCSR “DEMOKRITOS”.
Led by the I-SENSEGroup/ICCS, together with FRONT Research Group | NCSR “DEMOKRITOS”,INFOLYSiS,OTE Group of Companies (HTO), and the Hellenic Rescue Team of Attica – Ελληνική Ομάδα Διάσωσης Αττικής , the activity demonstrated how Beyond-5G (B5G) and emerging 6G technologies will support faster, safer and more efficient disaster response operations, contributing to environmental protection and public safety.
Participants from research and academia were invited to attend the first trial.
The demonstration was successfully completed and sparked interesting discussions and questions about the concept of the 6G application, reflected through the different deployments in the 6G application framework (V-App, N-App and AI-App) in the real world.
The trial focused on AI-enabled early wildfire detection and collaborative robotics, combining UAVs, robotic platforms and advanced communication networks to enable near real-time situational awareness, improved coordination of rescue teams and safer operations in remote forest areas.
✍️ Trial Objectives
🔹Present the Greek pilot’s activities and technological vision within the project
🔹Test and validate the initial version of the 6G Application interfaces within the Greek Pilot.
🔹Capture lessons learned from the first trial deployment
