6G VERSUS at British Academy of Management (BAM) 2026 Conference

We are delighted to share that the University of Bradford and Kingston University London presented the research paper: “Impact Evaluation in 6G Vertical Trials: Integrating Key Value Indicators for Sustainability Assessment” at the British Academy of Management (BAM) 2026 Conference. The paper was presented on 9 September 2026 under the track: “Project Experiences: Digitalisation and Digital Transformation in Projects.”

Dr. Shanaka Perera presented the paper, which explored the application of Key Value Indicators (KVIs) within impact assessment for the 6G VERSUS project. The research provides insights into how KVIs can complement traditional performance measures by capturing the wider value and impact generated by 6G vertical trials, including environmental, social, organisational and societal dimensions.

Key contribution of the research

– Moving beyond traditional KPIs — exploring how Key Value Indicators can capture broader dimensions of value and impact.

– Strengthening sustainability assessment — supporting a more holistic understanding of the sustainability implications of 6G innovations.

– Capturing wider societal value — recognising that successful technology innovation should create value not only for organisations, but also for communities, citizens and society.

– Supporting impact-driven innovation — providing insights that can help guide the evaluation of emerging technologies through both performance and value perspectives.

– Informing future 6G vertical trials — contributing to more comprehensive approaches for evaluating the real-world impacts of next-generation connectivity.

The paper was well received at BAM 2026, providing a valuable opportunity to engage with researchers and practitioners working across digitalisation, digital transformation, projects and innovation.
